I just purchased an 02 Sebring/Black and am waiting to finish break-in to really see what the car can do. I noticed that a few Arizona owners get together for track events, NASA and ASRA, at local tracks. Are there any special equipment requirements to participate? Do you need a roll bar/cage, drivers suit, gloves, helmet, etc. I would like to take part in a track event, but do not want to modify the car to meet SCCA specs and I have been looking for an alternative that will let me drive on the track with stock S2000 w/ helmet.

Thanks

ScottH,

There are a whole bunch of us who do track time. The 2 main organizations are NASA (http://www.nasa-az.com/) and ASRA (http://www.azsportsracing.org/front.asp); each holds a track event and driving school every month. The only requirements are a self-tech inspection, use of a recent helmet (SA recommended, M allowed), and that the car is properly maintained. You can even drive with the top down. Upcoming track events are posted to this forum or sent out in emails.

If you contact SCS2K or nrs, they can provide details on a Nevada track that is supposed to be really nice (Pahrump).
