Hey. Just got a 00. Berlina Black on black. Got it at Showcase Honda for 16,900 with 52K miles. Pretty sweet deal. I have wanted one since they first came out, but couldnt afford a new one so I bought a Turbo VW Beetle and spent some time with that. I spent lots of time with newbeetle.org. I miss the torque, but I like the top end of the S. And the handling is much better, even with my bilsteins, H&Rs and sways on the beetle. By the way, with 15lbs of boost I used to beat the S to 60.
the car has some aftermarket, which is good cause I dont have to add it myself. But I wonder if the previous seller is/was here. Its got Invidia exhaust, ??header, AEM intake, and a Veilside body kit. Its sweet. I asked the techs at Showcase to let me know if there is any other mods internal (cam, ECU, etc) that I cant see, but they didnt. If the previous owner could help shed some light that would be cool. Or does someone know a great shop that can check it through?
Ill be spending some time here, its my first VTEC. Ill be saving for some forced induction (need torque!) and bigger/lighter wheels/tires. The suspension feels great right now, a little squilly coming out of a right turn at high speed, but it straghtens right up. So I dont think I will do much with that, maybe a front sway.

. Did you check this car out on carfax before purchasing it? Just asking because I had three different dealerships try and sell me wrecked S2000s. I even asked if they had been in an accident and they said no all three times. A lot of people will add a bodykit after they have gotten in an accident. Just wondering because you got such a good deal. 
If you got it all checked out then nice buy.

i didnt check it out on carfax, and the dealer certified that it had never been in an accident. I asked the salesman twice and the fleet manager once. I got a great deal because they posted the wrong price on cars.com. I got to the dealer and it was stickered at 19,995 (like many S's in AZ). After an "intense" conversation I showed them the website, so they sold it to me at that price. Maybe I should have checked it on Carfax, but I was convinced by the dealer that there is and was no mechanical or physical damage to the car. It runs perfect, and looks perfect.

Only 00 berlina/black int I can think of with any mods was Erik Valdez, if he sold it - if you search this forum (AZ) it would be about this time last year and might list any mods.
If it does not have an aeroscreen (or aftermarket aeroscreen) it could be his - he was trying to sell it and it did have high mileage (52K is pretty high on an S2000 around here, I have about a 1/3 of that mileage and go on every drive). I don't think he was in an accident though.
There have been a few berlinas in accidents. Most of them would have been posted in the forum.
Always ask the dealership to put in writing that the car was not in an accident and is not a salvage. A significant amount of information does not show up on a Carfax report. Many municipalities and a few states do not allow the reporting to a third party. That's why it is better to get the statements in writing, makes the dealership double check the homework, not you.

it might be this guy named martin that had it.. I met a guy with around that many miles and he had like those mods i think, except he had some gunmetal wheels. I know he got an is300 so i dunno if thats his though

Awesome! I saw that car when I was looking as well...but I was stuck on getting an 02 or newer. Not a bad deal as long as its clean...enjoy the car! Ive only had mine for three days and I cant stop driving it, it intoxicating!
