We are thinking of getting a cell phone for my daughter for Xmas, but want to get her a prepaid cellular (to make sure she doesn't go WAY over her plan). Has anyone ever bought a prepaid cellular plan? Are there pitfalls to watch out for? Good plans/companies? Bad plans/companies?

 

Just get her Cricket. It's unlimited. Pre-paid is the biggest rip off!!!

 

I agree... Prepaid "pay as you go" minutes are WAY more expensive then POST paid!
"up to .35 cents a minute"
The Cricket's network is definitely not the greatest but hey its unlimited!
Only bad thing is you got to up some money for a phone
"no freebies because there is no contract"
but all prepaid is like that...

Just make sure the good coverage exists where your daughter goes.
I am sure they have some trial time to test it out + there is NO contract anyway...
