So the DMV thinks they are all cool and hip now emaling me to renew my registration.

I glanced at the amount and almost fell off the chair; 530 for 1yr or 970 for 2yrs. OMGWTFBBQGTFO comes to mind!!!!

Is this for real or is the DMV owned by Mugen now?

Haha yeah AZ is nuts about MSRP based registration. Haven't you registered a newer vehicle here before? I just sold a new 550i today, and it's 1 yr registration cost was a cool grand!

Just another way the The Man (from AZ) sticks it to ya.......

It was only $32 for my '95 civic cx. But my wife's '05 Accord is $330 for 1 year or $650 for 2 years. So not as bad as yours but still a bit much.

WOW! My 04 Gti in Utah was $149/year. I thought that was insanity. Fortunately I just bought my S a few weeks ago so I wont have to register again anytime soon

I paid $125 for 2 years in NYC, I have to pay $500 for 1 year out here. That's just sucks.

^Yeah but what were your property taxes up there? "The Man" is going to get it from you some way or another.

Ivan, What I'm hearing is that you can save money if you buy a trailer and make your car "track-only"

Yeah AZ registration is expensive, but the rest of the taxes are so cheap that I still come out way ahead compared to AZ. Only 5% income tax instead of 9.3%. Property taxes are about 1/3 what I paid in CA too.

My registration for 1 year (with custom plate) came out to $250 for my '01 s2000. is that good? I paid it without even thinking twice about it.
