Replacing Convertible top

Default Replacing Convertible top

I just picked up an 01 and the top is shot.

Most of the quotes I got are near $1300. Is this reasonable?

Does anyone have a good shop they can recommend in AZ?

Also, do most shops know how to convert the plasitc top to the glass top?

One more question about the differences between a factory vinyl vs cloth top, anyone have any experience with both?

The 02 and newer tops come with glass, most likely if you are getting an OEM part it will have glass in it.

Someone on here is selling a brand new OEM soft top.

Id stay with OEM due to fitment, I put an aftermarket one on my miata and it looked like piss, then again the miata was purple, so who knows.

Stick with OEM, I promise you won't like cloth. Call SOS and see what they quote. I wouldn't go anywhere else.

Just curious what is the drawback of cloth ? I like the look of the factory top but wondered which one actually holds up better.

Call ScienceofSpeed. They have replaced many tops and can get you a quote.

i have a cloth, but I don't like it. changed colors and doesn't look nearly as good as the factory vinyl.
