Default Road Trip?!

S2KDays '06 San Antonio registration is now open!!!

Thanks to yet another generous donation from American Honda, the cost to join us for the biggest and best S2KCA event of the year is only going to be $90 (and yes, this is a member-only event, but even if you ad $35 for the one-year membership fee, it's still cheap)!!!

But wait, there's more... Who out there likes kart racing? And I'm not talking about the kind you find at those family arcade places either. We're talking racing karts here. We are going to rent out Iron Rock Raceway in Austin for four hours of karting all to ourselves! And, since the Club is going to pay a substantial portion for this, it is only going to cost each of you kart junkies $50 to play! We will have open running in the morning and after lunch (provided) the plan is to have team enduro-style racing in the afternoon.

But you non-karters won't be left out. For those not interested in the karting event you can opt to receive a $75 gift certificate that can be used at the resort for either a round of golf or at the resort spa. Yep - $90 to register and you already know you're going to get $75 of that back (which is also about what we expect the discount to be for the karting).

Other plans include a cash bar reception Friday evening (appetizers provided), round-trip bus transportation to downtown San Antonio following the reception to enjoy dinner (on your own) and the riverwalk and nightlife in the area. We may even do a chartered riverboat tour if people are interested.

Saturday we will have several group drive options in the wonderful and scenic Texas Hill Country with a lunch stop on the way. Of course, Saturday night will be the big banquet at the resort including the always popular raffle of sponsor-donated items. And Sunday we plan on having a tech session by Curt (Trackit) from C&C Northside Motors in Houston and the possibility of additional drives.

So, as you can see, this is going to be a weekend jammed full of great activities in addition to having the opportunity to meet and enjoy the company of your fellow S2KCA members from all across the country. This is the big event of the year for the Club and I highly encourage all of you to try to attend. Rooms at the resort are still available at the special discounted price of $99 per night so go ahead and make your reservations here while this block of rooms last.

Click on the banners to sign up and join us at the event.

I hope to see you all there!

It would be great if some of you guys would join us. It's really not that far (I'll do the drive from Houston to Phoenix in a day, and this would cut out another three or four hours since you don't have to drive as far), and it's a ton of fun.

That sounds like so much fun. Wish it was closer to Phoenix.

There are people caravanning from Tucson, so you could always join those guys!

Take an extra day or two and really make a road trip out of it!

The goal is to top this picture taken at the first S2KDays in Asheville, NC.

So everyone, come on down and help out! A good time will be guaranteed in return!

Nah, if I was to head out there golf would be the last thing on my mind. You gotta be somewhat of a wackjob to go to a car enthusiast get together and ditch out on stuff car related.

I work at a golf course, so taking multiple days off in a row at that time of the year can't happen. That's where golf got brought into it.
