For Sale Threads
This place has started to look less like a website for car enthusiasts and more like eBay. I'm getting tired of sending 5 PMs a day about selling crap, so I'm going to write this thread and then dump without warning, cause or pleasantries...
RULES OF THE AZ FORUM ON SELLING
1. If you are NOT a MEMBER of S2KI (meaning you paid annual dues), you DO NOT SELL in our forum. I do not care what the other forums allow, that is their domain. This cuts down on sales and protects locals from board trolls trying to unload garbage. There is no "vouching" and you cannot sell your buddy's stuff because you are a member and he isn't.
We USED to have a 1-yr rule, but we did away with this at the board members requests, since there are a lot of new faces with slightly used cars who are trying to make their car their own. Everyone has been very cool and there haven't been any bad dealings I'm aware of, so we'll keep allowing the newbies to sell.
A "want-to-trade" (WTT) thread is the SAME as a FS thread - you are receiving money for merchandise (i.e my wheels for your OEM stuff + cash).
A "want to buy" (WTB) thread is fine for everyone, but it is better to handle this with PMs. If too many people start responding with stuff they are selling, this becomes a FS thread.
2. IF you are a member, you get ONE for sale thread in here. If you have 1 thing to sell, you get one thread. If you have 57 parts to sell, you get ONE THREAD. Don't litter up the board or I will pick my favortie and dump the rest.
3. I'm a little torn about the selling of non-car related items. Again, this is not Craigslist. No one on here is interested in buying your grandmother's wicker chair. For now, we'll keep allowing it but please don't let this get out of hand. There are better venues for selling this crap.
Sorry to vent, but I noticed (for one example) the thread on the AZ Fun in the Sun meet getting pushed to page 2 with all of the junk for sale... that's frustrating for the organizers and attendees. Please be considerate of your fellow local S2Kers.
