Second gas tank?

Default Second gas tank?

This may cause some laughing and ridicule, but I've been asking myself, so I thought it time to ask those of you who know the S better than I do. Is there any room, anywhere on the S2000 to install a secondary or larger gas tank? My goal would be to be able to drive at least 400 -450 miles without having to refuel. Is ths an impossible dream?

fuel cell in the trunk w/tank selector?

planes have them, don't see why cars can't haha

All of my past cars got 400+ miles per tank. I'm not used to stopping for gas so often. I guess it gives me an excuse to stretch my legs every few hours on a long drive.

I remember on bull run or w/e before I stopped watching it the shelby had a gas tank in the trunk that overflowed. Surely you can somehow link a reserve fuel tank? No clue on specifics, but if you can make a chrysler 300 into a convertible in Tucson, should be able to find someone to make a reserve fuel tank work for $$$ in AZ.

The main problem with this idea is you would change the balance of the car. The S has near perfect weight distribution and another large fuel tank in the back would change that causing the rear to become much heavier.

I really do miss over 200 miles per tank and have though alot about adding a 10 gallon overflow in the trunk for extended trips. whats a gallon weigh? 7 lbs. So a 10 gallon tank would weigh in at 70 lbs. Ive removed that much weight from ditching my evap system, exhaust, and spare tire parts. Most people put that much weight in just audio equipment in their trunk.
