So, i folded my top down the other day & "POP" ! Both latches went through the top & broke. . What the hell happened ?? Also, does anyone know if those "V.I.S FRP " hard tops from cali are any good at all ? I think it's a Mugen replica. . .

 

How long have you had the car and what year is it? When you put the top down, does it sit flush or does it kind of stick up a bit? I wonder if your elastic straps stopped working causing the center bar not to drop properly and eventually putting enough pressure on the front part of the top resulting in the latches tearing through. Does that sound possible?

Oye, I have Ben's old top and it needs new elastic bands. I better get on that.

 

Its an 01' but the top had already been replaced. It was a factory top w/ a glass back window. Was in really nice shape too. HARD TOP TIME !!!

My elastic is sagging as well and the top isn't folding down properly. Does anyone know where I can pick up some of that "modified elastic"? Fabric store?Walmart? etc...
