Default Some interesting info in regards to gas....

Well, I was filling up the truck this evening at the Chevron at Recker and McDowell.
There was a tanker there filling up the tanks below ground and the guy was waiting there for them to fill up so I struck up a conversation with him. I asked him if there were any Chevrons in the Valley that offered 100 octane and he said no, but there were a few (stations other than Chevron) and the 100 octane gas is made by a different mfg. He stated that the 91 octane is actually 93-94 and that the 87 is actually 89 octane. When I questioned the octane rating on the pump he said "that's the minimum octane rating......" Next time I am there I am going to get the phone # listed on the pump for "Weights and measures" and have them sample it and let me know. My ECU will automatically advance timing with higher octane but I can't tell the difference between Mobils 91 and Chevrons, but I can tell a huge difference with 4 gallons of 100 and the rest 91. That's about 94-95 octane.

I hope you all have a safe and wonderful weekend.
