I'm not really new to this site. I've been viewing the ancestors to this site since before I got my car which was two years ago (back then it wasn't S2ki.com). Anyway, I just wanted to (re)introduce myself as I'm trying to become more involved in the local S2K community and contribute more to this site.

I'm a software developer and I've lived in Phoenix since '88. My real name is Robert Nell hence my screen name of Arnell (R. Nell). I used to be ElRapido but grew tired of that one.

I've had my S2000 since Jan 2000 and love it. It's got ~16K miles on it and I still think of it as new. I've not customized my car as much as some of you but I'm planning on more. I'm waiting to see how the Vortech SC performs and I'd like the hardtop for when it's 110+ degrees.

I'm planning on joining some of the AZ outings but that may have to wait as I was laid off back in December by American Express (I'll refrain from posting how much I dislike that company now). Any of you guys in Phoenix know of open programmer positions?

Finally (sorry for the length), I was wondering how I join the (in)famous Team Arizona? If it takes a ticket I've got a few...

Welcome
You might try the State, in spite of all the crap coming from downtown they are still hiring and are always shorthanded. You might have to take a pay cut but it is still better than unemployment and will give you a paycheck while you look for a better position. Please join us when you can. Some of our day trips will only cost you gas money and I am sure you will enjoy the company. They are a really nice bunch with lots of safe but spirited driving and great lunch breaks that lean towards inexpensive bars/restaurants with funny names.
Hope to see you soon. Look for the old guy with the cute wife.

It's funny you mention State jobs s2k3132. I'm actually working with a placement/contract firm and they have submitted me for two positions with the State. The second one I just learned about within the last 10 minutes. Hopefully one of those will pan out as the pay is actually very good - contract work is usually better pay than full time.

Let me know if one of the jobs is at AHCCCS and I will put the fix in. It would blow their minds to have two of us in the parking garage.

One of the positions is at the Dept of Transportation and the other is at the Dept of Health. If I get the job at the Dept of Transportation I'll work on getting S2000 owners their own lane on the freeways. Oh yeah, and I need to see why that lane for guys named Bob was never followed up on.
