Default specs

Hey every1.. as some of the members on this board might know I am into drifting.. well I picked up a S2000 for daily driver use but I just picked up a tundra today.. I was search for specs on some cars and dont have any luck.. Does any1 know specs to these drift car- RSR S2000, AEM S2000 and Real Time Racing S2000.. I know there are some custom stuff done so its hard to find info on them.. I dont see 2 many s2000 drifters so i figured I'll just turn mine into one.. any info on these cars would be awesome

I forgot where but they had an interview with the RSR guy and he said they had a hell of a time making the S drift. Didn't go into details though.

I am interested in the specs too.

My tires are too new right now so when I powerslide it grips almost right away. I need to get my butt to the track asap.

Take your front tires and put them on the rear and vice versa then drift away

Oh, and a turbo helps

It wouldnt take THAT much money to turn the S into a drift car in terms of pure suspension mods. The s2000 comes from the factory bound up grip wise from front to rear. In order to unbind the rear, find springs that arent as stiff and get some adjustable shocks and set them to full soft. That will solve a lot of the snap oversteer problems, and if you want to take it even further, bind up the front end of the chassis more by putting front sway bar, tower bar, etc on there...it will just transfer the energy to the rear of the car and you will have a pretty good drift car. But the powerband is the tricky part, and for the S i would rather choose a supercharger over a turbo when thinking of drifting. You would get instant boost rather than having to wait on the turbo to spool up, but thats just personal preference.

^Um, you might as well strap an ox to the car if you stiffen the front and soften the rear because you'll be plowing all the way around the course. Also, there isn't anything instant about boost with the currently available superchargers for the S2000. If you were joking or being sarcastic than you need to use some smilies. If not you need to study up on suspension tuning and maybe visit the FI forum.

WTF Redchili you have any idea what you are talking about.

Anyways, I am really into drifitng and I go to cali alot to meet up with my buddy Justin that used to work at AEM. He basically built Tanner Foust Aem 350z Drift car and helped out on Papadakis S2000. He personally drives a FC. But anyways some specs on the Aem S2000 are, lovefab kit that uses a v-mount setup. Moton Suspension. Basically every chassis reinforcement. etc.

More power the easer to drift and make more smoke. But you dont always need more power as you can see people doing it in there Hachi's with no problem. But more power is also fun.

I Know the Aem s2000 has a built diff which I believe is a 2 way lsd, which will help alot when you drift. The main 2 things that are in every drift car , is good suspension and lsd.

If I remember correctly(pretty sure) RSR used a RX7 steering rack to to achieve better steering angle.

Are you trying to actually drift in competition on track etc? If so there are much better/easier/cheaper choices for that. 240sx is very popular and prime example.

^I'll let Roger address that one

Jihan,

You need to come out to one of our local events to drift. We will be at PIR at the end of September.

a 240 would be nice.. My 240 is pretty much built just for drifting.. I just wanted to get in a new car and try out something new... plus you dont see alot of s2000 drifting.. the car is just going to be for fun.. there isnt really any competitions out in arizona.. but CRA and Ksport will be starting one soon... if anything I would use my 240 for competitions..

I heard something about the RSR S2000 having a rx7 steering rack.. pretty much I'm just trying to see how much work and fab it will take to build one before I decide to take everything apart and go through with it... I probaly wasnt 2 clear on what I was asking.. pretty much I was just asking about steering angles and suspension setups..
