Time Trials!
RULES[

NASA is introducing their new class called NASA Time Trial, and I'm going to try and take on this project in addition to group3. I highly recommend everyone to take the 5 minutes to go through the rules and seriously consider this, it could be really awesome!
To sum it up without copying the official description, it's basically a time attack (fastest lap time), using an autocross-style points style system based on car class and modifications. Each modification carries "points" with it, which weigh your score up or down. All drivers drive in the HPDE 4 session with in-car transponders to record lap times, and at the end of each session drivers are ranked from fastest to slowest, which again is based on lap time, then multiplied by car class "factor".
For instance, a Geo Metro might be in Class H, while a stock 240SX is in Class G. If the Geo has an engine swap (+7), race tires (+5) and coilovers (+7), so it will be bumped up into Class G against the 240SX. Theoretically the 240SX and Geo should now be even. There are points for EVERYTHING.
Right now we are guaging interest, seeing if there are enough drivers to warrent a seperate run group for this
take a look at the rules, its fun to see how your car would stack up to others and the classes youll be forced into with your mods

Sweet! I'm looking forward to trying this out!
Count me in! What class are you and Jeff in? Looks like the S2000 falls into the "D" category. Here is the list of cars in that category :
Acura

im sitting right at 45points, this would take me to D class but i could pull off any item like strut tower bar or something and run in group E. ill probably stay in D because E would be a massacre with me spoiling the fun for others
ill give you s2k's something to fear

Sounds like fun. I might sign up for it next time around. I am currently going to be a Class C with +9, so I still have room for the suspension work I want to do.
My only concern is that time trials have a big impact on insurance coverage. Normally, when I run with a HPDE (no matter what group), I am covered because it is a non-timed event. If I go for the time trials I will not have any insurance coverage at all.
That might make me reconsider things....
