I run the Sumitomo HTRZIII on both of my cars. Here are some fellow S2k owners opinions on these tires.

Depending on your price range, the Dunlop Direzza Z1 Star Specs are proven to provide exceptional grip. Nitto just came out with the NT05 which also seems like a good tire. I would search the wheel and tire forum on s2ki.

Talking

I just bought Kumho Ecsta XS (front & rear) for my S from Tire Rack. They arrived today. I'll be heading to my local Discount Tire tomorrow so they can be mounted, balanced, etc.

The car currently has Kumho Ecsta MXs (front & rear). So hopefully I'll have a review tomorrow afternoon for you.

Now I'm off to the dealer for some warranty work. (needs new rear mount diff.) L8R.

tirerack review of Sumitomo. I'm telling you, I'm really surprised of the grip and mileage I've gotten out of these tires.

100% agree. Had mine for ~1000 miles, and the things are amazing. In expensive, grip really well (only slightly less than RE050's) and are a LOT smoother and quieter. Amazing tire, not just for the price but all around...

Highly recommend the Sumi HTR-Z III's

Im running on AP2 V1s and have 225/45/17 up front Yokohama S Drives. A good tire, with an agressive tread and should last pretty long i got them about 3 months ago so cant tell yet on how exactly much they got left but they sure do have a while! Anyway, what i am trying to say is that it is a great tire for normal/spirited driving and traction but when pushed hard it feels like the tire walls are weak. Feels like they are on the weak side. Dont know if the 225 factor has to do anything instead of 215 but i sure do feel a little more flex out of them. In the end it is a good tire, but if i was going to look into performance i wouldnt go with this Cant wait for RE-01Rs in 255 for the rear !!!

Im running BFG gforce's 225 up front and 255 in the rear, some will say they dont like it but IMO they are the best bang for your buck.
