Default Tucson Body Shops?

Hi all, the last posting on this subject in the paint and body forum is several years old so I thought I would try here.

My S needs front and rear bumper covers repainted, the back due to fading, the front due to curb rash. I hear RYP is hard to match.

Any recommendations?

Thanks!

Sorry, can't help you out much here. I do know the owner of IA Performance had one rebuilt at Vanderpools and was happy with the work. I copy and pasted his thread.

"I recently picked up a salvage title s2000 the other week in hopes to have a fun/inexpensive track car/project for the girlfriend and I (yes, she enjoys working on cars too ). Details on teh car:
- 2006
- 12,XXX miles
- Runs / Drives
- Damage limited to the front end cosmetics/metal

Here are some photos of it as it arrived:

After a bit of wrenching by the Girlfriend and some by me it looks like this and runs perfectly.

We were able to do all the work up to this point, where frame work is needed. That is when we called upon Vanderpools Auto Refinishing. They are a Tucson based Body Shop that is Family owned and operated (you can see where your money goes, not so with a corporation). Keep it local people On any given day they have a handful of Sport Compact cars (subarus, Mitsus, hondas) in the lot so it seemed only logical to go there.

So here she sits now awaiting the miracle work to begin. Andrea and I are both anxious to see how the frame rail pulls. This will dictate the next steps for the car.

More updates to follow as the work progresses at Vanderpools.
Goodies have started to finally show up. 2006 s2000 front clip comes in pretty handy when replacing all of the small radiator support pieces and the cooling system.

With patience and determination they were able to pull and straighten the front end. It is now ready to start receiving the front clip pieces.

I've fallen behind a bit with updates:
After some amazing work I was shown the newly repaired front end (amazing! especially considering what they started with)

A hood joins the party along with most of the front end accessories:

The engine bay is just about completed in this photo:

Exterior shots as the car sits present day. The small gap on the Right bumper corner is due to a missing bracket. The bracket should be here by weeks end along with some new emblems and a few other small goodies.

In traditional Vanderpool fashion, there is always a Subaru or Mitsu laying around the shop. For the Gold Star, see if you can find it

At this pace I should have finished pictures shortly. The overall quality is top notch! If it wasn't for 'Salvage' stamped on the Title, it would be hard to tell this s2000 was ever banged up. :hsdance:

Just needs the bumper finished and the lights installed. Perfect seam gaps all the way around on this sucker!

Done! I can't say enough good things about the crew down at Vanderpools. I never thought the car would come out this nice! +1 for them in my book.

Perfect door, hood, fender, bumper gaps all the way around too Those are usually the Visual Hints for Salvage cars. Plus I just found the previous owners GAP insurance policy so now it makes sense why it was totaled even though the damage appeared to be less than a total loss. GAP coverage pays out the original price if your car is ever totaled, so my guess is the previous owner kept pushing until the car was totaled in order to receive a fatty check rather than a fixed car.

Here you go: http://formula1tucson.com/

Talk to Tyler there and tell him I sent you (Pomales). He did my front end and we are going to do the rear bumper and trunk lid soon.
