Hey guys

My little sister is planning on going to University of Arizona in the Fall of 2010 and she wants to know how the school is out there. If any of you guys can chime in and give me details of what's around there, atmosphere, how the school is etc that would be great !
I would like to know the cons and pros about it before I make the drive out there from Socal. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

John

My Bro is in their architecture program down there.

I'll ask him what he thinks. My parents bought a house for him down there while he wraps up everything.

Every program at the school is different but otherwise most of the student body is pretty good. Weather is good except for summer. There were recent budget cuts so there are alot of programs that were axed and alot of professors let go so I really dont know what its going to be like next year. Other than that its just like most other colleges.

Lets be honest, the student body isn't as good as ASU. Well to be totally honest almost nothing at UofA is as good as ASU except for the science/medical programs.

And you all forgot to mention that there pretty much is nothing else to do there than participate in school events (go to Basketball and Football games) and hang out at the local wal-mart. If she is not an alcoholic, she probably will be by the time she is done at UofA, cause there is really nothing to do done there except go to wal-mart and drink at bars. At least that is what I have been told by the countless college students that I have asked. Just tell your parents to send her to ASU, and hope that she does not party too much and flunk out.

Or go to ASU west... dont laugh, that is where I went, and if you want your sister to be safe, and by safe I mean very little partying, then ASU west is the place to be.

what is she majoring in? is she hot? jkjk for me it was either asu or uofa. went with asu because it was easy to get in and closer to my parents home and the girls and parties. only went for a semster though. too expensive. partied too much. i was majoring in nursing. realized just because you have asu degree in nursing compared to community college nursing degree there is no pay difference. you take the same NCLEX RN exam in the end. estrella mountain community college ftmfw! plus there's cuties there too. they just don't party as hard as asu girls

What does she want to study? I would say there are more things to study and more things to do at ASU. However, like others said, some programs at U of A might be better. As in college life there will be a lot more stuff going on at ASU than UA. You will pretty much find anything you want to do in here. I love ASU, but I went to one of their better programs. I know some people are pretty upset about the quality of education they got. So again, I think a lot will come down to what she wants to study.

Crow has made sweeping cuts to ASU West that included cutting many programs. The campus is not the same as it used to be. I knew a lot of people who drove out to west campus because the classes were easier and professors more lenient.
