Default Vortex Generators? Curious, BS or what?

Im a noob, so dont start flaming me about these things. I just saw some cheap looking knockoffs on EBay so started to investigate a little on the internet and found quite a bit of info on these Vortex Generators. Does anybody have any experience with these things? The concept makes sense but then again, so do most mods in theory at least.

Does not work. Ultimate lurker put one on a dyno and it does nothing.

The thing with vortex generators is they're made for downforce, and it doesn't usually kick it until 100+ miles an hour i beleive. Could you test something like that on a dyno?

From a physics aspect, it adds drag in order to create volume. I just don't see it making a difference on a 2.0 liter LEV vehicle. Dyno tests show no real power gains and I don't believe anyone has seen MPG improvements on these small displacement engines.

How would a vortex generator show up on a dyno? Are we talking about the same thing? It's an aerodynamic piece used to create downforce.
