Default Well, it finally happened!

Coming home yesterday afternoon on the 202, I got pulled over from a DPS officer on a motorcycle. I was thinking it was for the photo radar plate but to my surprise it was because of the spoiler. The officer came up to my car and asked me to roll down my rear windows (fronts were already down) to make sure there were no surprises in the back. I did and then he asked if I know why I was pulled over. I said "to be honest with you no. i wasn't speeding because my radar detector picked you up quite a ways back, I have my seat belt on, so no, I don't know why" and his reply was "it's because of your illegal spoiler interfering with your rear vision" and I just started laughing. He asked "what is so funny if you don't mind me asking" and I told him that it was stock and he argued that it was aftermarket. I just said "give me my ticket and I will see you in court to prove that it's stock". At that point he became very arrogant and said that he could inspect the vehicle now if I didn't want to cooperate and I said "do what you have to do officer" so he gave me a warning ticket. He saw me throw it in the back and proceeded to follow me all the way home. He just sat and looked at me as I got out of the car in my garage so I pulled off the poster in my garage and took it out to show him and as I held it up, he drove off. What a tool.

Go ahead and flame away guys about bench on the trunk lid. I am waiting for it.

I've always said it was the perfect grocery getter because of that big shopping cart handle on the trunk.

Funny thing is, if you had a gun rack in the window of your 73 Ford pickup, I'm sure he wouldn't have thought twice. Sounds like he's got a LOT of semi trucks and conversoin vans to pull over, so it's gonna be a busy week for him...

Do they seriously have nothing better to do? What a jackass!! Nice OWN on the DPS Johnny. Did you get his name or badge number? I would report him for harassment because he's going to do it to someone else and they won't have the balls to call him on it but if they go to court and there is record of the officer pulling this bullshit before someone may give him a talking to about his job duties.

l8brakr, I wouldn't say I owned because I have heard of other peeps in CA getting pulled over for the same thing. He could have ticketed me for the front windows and the plate cover once I pulled into the garage. This is the 2nd time that I have had a DPS officer follow me home. I am sure if I hadn't wadded up the warning and threw it in the back seat that he wouldn't have followed me. I miss my S soo bad.

Just as well you didn't have the S Johnny... no back seat. You woulda had to crumple the warning and throw it in his face.

That is profiling and that is wrong.

Any opportunity to tell DPS to F*ck off is a great story for me. Nice going, Johnny. Interesting to be pulled over for obstruction of a rear window that you are not legally required to have....

Where was this cop hanging out? I so want to go up there with my STI and see if he will take the bait again... haha... better yet, get a group of STI's to go up there and just file through... haha. I would go after him for even the warning ticket... it was not justified... his supervisor needs to be shown what his officer is up to.

Not to mention him following you to your residence, when he should stay on his freeway and look for real troublemakers that could actually endager someones life.

I'm sure glad you weren't in your pickup towing your horse trailer - boy would you get a ticket for obstructing your rear view on that one..

Sheesh..
