Default Ap1 VS Ap2

Okay guys this has been argued on the forums before but I want to get your guys opinons on this debate. For me I like certain things with each model and I'll break it down which leads to my final decision.

Engine: AP1
Sorry but the AP1 takes the cake here from my driving experiance. Although the F22 creates more torque than the F20 you can't beat the 9K redline. For boosting whenever I do this is a plus.

Suspension: AP2
I think Honda really upgraded this from the Ap1, the rear end tells you a lot more and stays planted more than an AP1

Looks: AP2 slight advantage
I'll take headlights, bumpers, colors, wings, but please let me keep my Ap1 taillights, and wheels

So all in all I'll say the Ap2 is the better car it just needs an engine swap!

I agree, AP2. But mostly for the looks. I would keep my F20 and change headlight, taillights, front bumper, and center console. I don't like the AP2 rear bumper, but thats b/c I like the single exhaust
I love the sound of the F22, but like you said, you can't beat 9k redline

sorry only thing on ap2 i like is front bumper, tail light and rear tail lights since those are led. other then that ap1 for the win. and i think the ap1 is better suspension. they softened that ap2 suspension because people complained about the ruff ride

Ok, since I've driven both AP1's and AP2's

Overall for me, I liked the AP2, it just made more sense since my car is a daily driver and this isn't a car I wanted to get used, so my only option here was the AP2... I needed SOME ammenities (i.e. sound system upgrades from the AP1) and a car that wasn't so brutal. Now if it was purely a track car, then fine, I wouldn't even need door panels.
But I like to travel, and I think my AP2 is more suited for it, but even so, I could drive Anthony's MY00 across country (minus the exhaust ) and be perfectly content and have just as much fun.

Now don't get me wrong, I love the S2000 as a whole, every MY, it's a superbly engineered automobile.

This debate wouldn't even be occuring if we lived overseas because the AP2 still has the F20 there.
In regards to the F20 and the 9k redline, they obviously lowered it for a reason, anyone know what that reason is ? ( I don't know thats why I ask)

This will always be a biased poll, because each owner wil say that they like theirs better.

reason they lowered it was because people complianed about mid range torque and the lack there of. since the engine makes full torque before vtec crossover they raised it to the 2.2 which lowered compression..redline.. and the vtec therefore more torque

oh and if i dont sell my car and i turn this into a track car i will deff be dropping the f22 in my car. there is alot more NA potential the 2.0.. but if i ever go boost i will keep the engine cuz it loves it!!!

Not to get off topic, but what NA mods would you do Bobby? ITBs? That would be SO hot if it yielded enough gains to warent the hassle of tuning and problems with starting in the morning.
I know Tony at T1R was saying something about testing some cams, sounded promising.

The reason they lowered the redline is because the engine has a longer stroke and they needed to keep the piston speed reasonable.
