you're not having good luck with the car are ya? First the soft top tears, now this. Sucks to see another S get damaged. Were the roads wet?

Ouch! Is/was that a CF hood? If so, at least it's good to know that they crumple like that (versus decapitating the driver/passenger).

Roads were dry. Just got a bit too spirited now that the weather was so nice. Tires were bald. I don't remember much from it, but MichaelD said that I started sliding and overcorrected. Snap oversteer. Went up a curb, through a chain link fence, hit a tree, and I'm not even sure if I hit that telephone pole. Top was down at the time of the accident. I'm lucky I didn't get hurt. Literally I have a bruise on my side from the seat belt. That's it. Air bags didn't deploy, which is a little worrying...

Be safe out there guys.

Yeah. It was a Seibon CF. I didn't even think about that... if it would've shattered and sent shards... it could've been pretty bad.

Very lucky indeed, but that's a sign that the seatbelt served its purpose. I'm not sure what exactly they are, but supposedly certain criteria have to be met in order for the airbags to deploy (e.g. certain MPHs at impact, angle of the impact). After all the sliding, curb hopping and fence crashing, by the time you reached the telephone pole, your speed may have slowed below that airbag deployment threshold (whatever that may be).

bags should have been deployed. More then likely they are unhooked..

He was really lucky that nothing happened. I am glad to see he is ok.
