Post E-85

E85 is the term for motor fuel blends of 85 percent ethanol and just 15 percent gasoline. E85 is an alternative fuel as defined by the U.S. Department of Energy. Besides its superior performance characteristics, ethanol burns cleaner than gasoline; it is a completely renewable, domestic, environmentally friendly fuel that enhances the nation's economy and energy independence.

E-85 Gas Prices

I used E-85 back in cali because we are only aloud 91oct. So the ability to get 105 out of a pump that was 30cents less a gallon was a steal. Just thought i would let everyone else know the power of corn oil.

I wouldn't use it, just my opinion though. My father's girlfiriend has an 09 Impala V6 and designed to use E85. They has tried both ways, regular gas and E85. Said that despite the E85 being cheaper, the gas mileage actually dropped. I believe this because they take many road trips. Since our cars were designed to use premium unleaded gasoline, no corn syurp is going in my car. Again this is just my opinion and a testamonial I have heard first hand.
Not trying to shoot down your idea bro.

less gas mileage is because ethanol has less energy per unit than gasoline. in short, the amount of pure gasoline you need to move "x" amount of weight, you would need more ethanol to move the same amount of weight.
