I'm a brand whore

Only Chevron 93 or Shell 93 V-power goes into my girl unless I'm somewhere I can't find either.

Chevron and Shell are both "top tier" gasoline blends and have higher % additives than some brands to keep that engine clean. Some others....ie Exxon may be just as good, but are not certified as top tier.

yea. Once my dad tried to be nice and fill my car up for me. He put 89 in it.... We drove to autozone and bought a pump and pumper every bit out. I could have used octane booster but I did not want to take a chance.

One tank of 89 octane won't hurt it. The knock sensor will detect preignition and retard the timing a bit. You could have driven about 1/2 a tank and then just filled up with premium.
