so, with the hurricane in the works... what's everyone's plans for hurricane gustav (aka da bastardo)

my plans...
if its a category 3 or less im staying.
if its a category 3 or more ill b running to either houston or alabama, which ever is more clever.
also, i'll be boarding down the house *both of em*, setting up my battery operated airpumps for my lil fishies, and loading up all my ammunition and weapons for a katrina situation

I stayed for Katrina.. no reason I wont stay for this one. I'll kick it North of I-12 and hunker down for a wild ride. Staying for Katrina was one of the most amazing and humbling experiences of my life. I liked being there immediately after to help clear the roads and such. It offered such a sense of accomplishment.

To everyone from the New Orleans crew should this storm make it our way: Good Luck and Godspeed. I think it would be a good idea to create a "check in" thread after the storm passes just to make sure everyone is okay, and to see if anyone needs help of any kind.

I'm on the A team at the hospital so I will be staying for this one regardless of where it goes. We will be called into work as soon as Gustav enters the central gulf as a hurricaine. Sandy and AJ will probably go to Jackson if it is a cat3 and headed our way.

You guys stay safe over there in the crescent. And if they tell you to leave then get in the S and LEAVE. I sure don't want our next meet to be a funeral.

Oh, the joys of living on the MS Gulf Coast. But you know what? It's worth it.

Good luck guys. I'm over in AL and I'm already getting ready also in case it comes this way. I've got a farm and horses to take care of and not sure what we'll do if it comes this way.

It's still early so it may turn away from all of us.

Ashley is 7 months prego. We have a hospital just a few minutes down the road. I have a whole house generator and a portable backup. It is better for us to stay. I am feel like I am damned if I do, damned if I don't. The risk of Ashley in contra flow etc.. or ride out the storm. I think staying in a place we know in a well prepped house is the best we can do.

Everyone please be safe and remember that preparation and the tool between your ears is your best survival weapon!

My mother is a nurse and has to stay in the hospitals (she was in Charity for Katrina) so we stay as always. My in-laws have a generator on their house and enough supplies to last a small country for a week. If anyone gets in deep shit and needs a place to crash, let us know.
