Default NEW S2000CR 2008

Guys / Gals, on April 4, 2007 Honda will unveil their "Aggressively tuned" S2000CR
at the N.Y. auto show. What do you think the upgrades will be?

To start, I think:

S2000CR - 2.4 L , VVTI VTEC up grade (NA),
280+HP, W/ 200ft. lbs. tq.,
Weight - 2,800lbs (no change)

I don't see that much torque happening.

If Honda dropped in the turbo engine from the RDX (240 horsepower at 6,000 rpm and 260 pound-feet of torque at 4,500 rpm), the S2000 would be a rocket and a lot easier to drive.

However, it really wouldn't be an S2000 anymore.

I think don't hold your breath. Shocks, springs, bars, exhaust, intake, badges, misc crap.

Same or a little more power.

Think more Club Sport Miata.

Hope I am wrong.

Does give us something to look forward to. Especially since this car was suppose to end production somewhere between 2000 and 2007.

My guess is pretty much like Ken's. Maybe cloth seats and non-racecar like anolog guages. Maybe a "special" color. I don't expect much other than a higher price. Hope I'm wrong.

They could even say the CR is the "Classic Returns" and give us more MY2000 cars.

i think the CR stands for Club Racer... and rumors were the engine was going to be a K engine some humdrum 220hp with even less tq then the current F22. id have to wait and see what the body style, weight, transmission and amenities include before i sell the S for the 'new and improved' S
