Brian, I had been thinking about suggesting that you guys come over here for the school first. It wouldn't be a bad idea to get a feeling for the cars handling in a slightly safer place, ie: no walls to hit. Over here I would be very comfortable seeing all of you push your car hard enough to loop it at least once and I'd rather not see ANY spins at No Problem. Another good thing about having y'all over here first would be maybe finding a couple more owners to offset the cost. On the other hand I really want to get to No Prob.
I believe you might be able to buy helmets at No Problem. I have no idea of the cost if they have them. The helmets listed on the sites you listed above all look like motorcycle "M" ratings to me. That would be fine for an autocross or our school over here but might not be allowed at No Problem. We will also have some old loaner helmets over here when you come over for school use only. If you plan on making a habit of No Problem buy a helmet with a Snell "SA" rating. I bought my newest one from:
http://www.racerwholesale.com/
I've got the "Aero" but for a car with a windshield the $149.99 GF750 is a good choice.
Here are some more places to shop.

The above is a good way to waste part of your day....

Opinions differ on open or closed face helmets but I have a pretty stong opinion. Helmets are hot to wear and a full face helmet is hot as hell in the summer. Anytime I drive a car with a windshield I prefer an open face. The only time it's been a problem at all is when I've spun the car in loose stuff. I learned real quick when in a spin and I see a cloud of dust / sand / whatever coming in the side or over the windshield to squeeze my eyes and mouth shut at the last second for about
There is a one day Porsche event at NPR at the end of this month for $100 a person... I am going to wait untill March, but $100 is a good deal IMHO.
I am on their email list... I can post the email if you like...

It says SA00 on the helmet, so I guess this is SA2000?
I bought it for $140 from Thunder Motorsports in BR. I called Thunder Motorsports and they said that they are Snell 2000 rated and made by RCI.
Do we have a consensus that we will wait for CG and run in Pensacola before I set up the NPR track day?
Phil
