Default Red Bluff Run

From autoXforum:

Hello Everyone,

It is official: The 3rd Red Bluff Run will take place on November 25, 2007 at 7:00 am. I'm sorry about all of the confusion with the date change. The original date was the previous weekend. However, it came to my attention that there was a conflict with a CENLA event. So, in an attempt to accomodate more drivers, the date of the 3rd run will be November 25 (coincidentally my birthday! great present huh?) Unless the weather doesn't cooperate, or someone can give me a good reason otherwise, this date is SET IN STONE!

When: Sunday, November 25th, 2007 7:00 AM
Meeting place: IHOP in Covington
Where to: Tail of the Little Red Dragon (Red Bluff)
Bring: Your own car, cash, camera, etc. (it has also been suggested that you bring a two way radio. They are great for keeping everyone together, warning about police, road hazards, etc. They can be purchased rather cheaply at Wal-mart, radio shack, etc.)

Meeting place: Be at IHOP restaurant in Covington, LA, at 325 N Highway 190 (North of I-12 on the west side of 190) (985) 893-4885. Waypoints: N 30 26.119 W090 05.099

Leaving: IHOP at 8:00am putting us at Red Bluff about 9:30am.
Directions from Covington: Take 21 North to 35 bringing you almost straight to Hwy 587 (Red Bluff). Take a right on US-98. When 35 ends, make a left behind the gas station on the left side of US-98 onto 587 (west of Columbia, MS) We will run Red Bluff Road a few times beginning at the overlook past Morgantown about 10:00 am.
Lunch: Meet in Monticello at Pizza Inn about 11:30 am (before the church crowd)
Afternoon stop: About 2 pm at Boyd's Museum & Ice Cream Parlor at 30245 Railroad St., Angie LA (1-985-986-8411) It is full of NASCAR race memorabilia from the owner's racing days.

Red Bluff is an EXTREMELY CHALLENGING ROAD! This is a rally/run and not a race. OBEY ALL LAWS! Stay in your LANE; don

Hey guys,

We have had great success with the first two runs, and we think the 3rd run might even put them to shame! If you take a look at the pictures from the link above, you will get an idea of some of the cars you might get to run with. It's looking like we will have a very nice group of cars involved in this run, from Mild to WILD!!! We actually had a Lambo in the last run!

On the last run we had 4-5 S2000's including mine. I'm hoping to get a lot more this time around. WE MUST SHOW UP THESE FERRARI GUYS!!!!
On the last run, we had a stock S2000 hugging the bumper of a Ferrari 360 C.S. ALL DAY LONG! It was some pretty amazing driving.

As an 8 year S2000 veteran, I promise you that you will not be disappointed by this event. It is very laid back, and everyone gets to run at their own pace.

We are trying to get a rough count of attendees, so please let us know if you're interested. AND please spread the word to all of your S2000 buddies!!!

Well, you have to put it in perspective. Compared to deals gap, the bluffs look like your morning commute... but to people who don't have a chance to test their skills often, it is pretty exciting.

Yes we run the road a few times, but these runs are really about socializing and creating another event for our area. Plus everyone likes to drool over all of the other cars!

Trust me, you'll have a great time.

Haha, I see.... Well I'm always in Fayard because I'm a Political Science Dork! ((but we don't usually call ourselves dorks because we're too full of ourselves... you know, a bunch of future lawyers and politicians...)) Thats weird, I thought I was the only S2000 on campus. My ex-girlfriend was an art major... She always had classes over there.
