Solo BMT trip
Moved to Shreveport/Bossier area last week. Already did an autoX event. Wife flew back home to Italy for the next two weeks until the 13th. So, I'm planning on going up to BMT to check out the roads around this area. I plan on heading out on Sat morning on come back on Sat night or some time on Sunday depending how I like the road.
I plan on doing this unless something is going on with my home buying process.
Let me know of any tips of which roads, nice (affordable) place to stay, or want to join.

Here's a map of one of the previous BMTs.
The Stonegate Inn in Eureka Springs is a decent, inexpensive place to stay. There are a couple/few towns along I-40 (e.g. Ozark, Clarksville) that probably have some similar options.
My personal favorite roads in that area would have to be Hwys 103, 215 and 23.

USAFSTUD, Welcome to the S2000 community in Arkansas. I see above that you will be in my area
this Saturday, 5 May 2012. I live in Newton County Arkasas, and nearly every paved road in the
county is excellent for S2000 driving! Hwy 7 is a beautiful highway to drive, but on that highway
in Newton County observe the speed limit as Arkansas Highway Patrol is on it every day. If you
are interested in having another S2000 join your tour of Newton County, give me a call before you
turn off of I-40, and I will meet you at the Hwy 7 roadside park just one-mile from my house on Asia
Point Road. JulieU and I are the original co-organizers of the semi-annual Boston Mountains Tour (BMT).

I will expect your telephone call after 1:30 PM today. The roadside park is
located on the east side of Hwy 7 about 8 miles north of the Hwy 16W & Hwy 7
intersection. If you get to the Cliff House Restaurant you have gone one-mile
too far northbound on Hwy 7. Not exceeding the 55 mph Hwy 7 speed limit, it
takes about one-hour and ten-minutes to get to the roadside park after leaving
I-40. By 2:30 pm today I will drive my black S2000 to the Hwy 7 roadside park
and wait for you there.

usafstud, I have not received your telephone call, but I will be at the Hwy 7 Guy Bennett Roadside Park
just before 2:30 PM today. Look for the park on the outside(East side) of a left-hand highway curve.
The roadside park has tables with roof over them. Look for a black 2002 Honda S2000 with an OEM black hardtop.
Just received your call; see you about 3:40 pm.

usafstud and I took our black '00 and '02 S2000 cars for a little Boston Mountains run yesterday. We made
the loop of Hwys 7N to 374SE to 123S to 7S to 123SW to Clarksville and back via Hwys 21N to 16E to 7N. We
made the run without incident except a crow flew up and hit my windshield: no windshield damage but one
dead crow. The weather was perfect, and we did not come up behind a single motorcycle! I believe we will
have usafstud on our next Fall BMT'12.

I just viewed the 5 excellent HD video clips that usafstud was able to record yesterday using my 720p HD video spy glasses.
He recorded 15 minutes (1.29 GB) of Hwy 123SW starting in Mt. Judea and entering the Ozark National Forest with the roadway
climbing up-mountain through switchback curves (first gear) and many second and third gear curves as the highway followed the
mountain ridgebacks. Then he recorded 2 min 7 sec (187 MB) of the same leg of Hwy 123SW as we approached Hwy 7.
After we followed Hwy 7S to intersection of Hwy 123W he recorded 15 minutes (1.30 GB) of the very twisty Hwy 123W until some
point west of the one-way bridge. He also recorded an additional 4 minutes (358 MB) of Hwy 123W as it went down the mountain
and approached the Arkansas River Valley. As daylight hours were limited, we topped off our gas tanks in Clarksville and
returned on Hwy 21N to the intersection with Hwy 16E. He recorded 10 miutes (907 MB) of the twisty Hwy 16E to the intersection
with Hwy 7.
These video files are so large that I have been unable to attach them to this thread. One solution would be to upload them to
upload to another system (Amazon Cloud or youtube) with five links to this thread, but I don't know how to do that. Any suggestions?

Jmoore2k, thanks for your hospitality. I had a great time. Too bad I couldn't end up spending the night and doing it again today.
BTW, this guy's driving is pretty quick and clean.
