Default Thinking of dropping my car...

I was thinking of getting some Tein S-Tech springs for my car to get rid of a little bit of the gap. I'm not looking for a big drop, just an 1" or so to make it look better. I don't race or track my car. Now comes the questions...

Do I need to get shocks too, or will the stocks work fine? Will I be better off just getting new shocks, and if so, what kind do you recommend?

Do I need to get a camber kit, or is it adjustable on the S2K?

Does anyone know a good place in the greater Little Rock area to get an alignment? I know a lot of places don't like to mess with lowered/lifted vechicles. I'm hoping there is some place that is very good because lets face it, I don't want to have to keep going back for it pulling etc.

I'm still in Iraq till the end of August, so I'm hoping to get it all figured out and ordered before I get home. It's nice to have presents waiting for me. Any comments/help would be greatly appreciated.

Dan

If you are dropping your car an inch then no camber kit and just go with the eibach springs. Your shocks will be fine seeing as you don't race. How many miles are on your car? Most peps say change your shocks every 60k miles. If your close to that then change them on the other hand coilovers are nice cuz you can still drop an inch but at the same time adjust the dampening of the shocks for a stiffer road so you don't bottom out when you are dropped. Good luck over there.

Thanks for the quick reply. My car only has 10,000~ miles on it right now. I was thinking about coilovers for the adjustability, but I don't know if I want to spend that much being I just want to drop it for looks. If I can find a good price on a group buy or in the for sell section though, I might go that way.

If your just going to get just lowering springs, you can use your OEM shocks, but it will wear them out prematurely. Best bang for your buck are coilovers.

I think what Bobby said is right. You might blow your stock shocks a bit early with low springs on them. After that you migrate up to the Bilstein shocks with aftermarket springs, or maybe Koni's. I did the full Monte and installed KWV3 coilovers. 1" drop in front and 0.5" drop in back. A more expensive way to go.

Make sure you have some friends to help you do the springs. Installation at a dealer could run into some money.
