Default Tire Question

Hey guys! Just wondering how long the OEM Bridgestone Potenzas on the AP2s last. I know a lot of that depends on how I drive it. Just trying to get a rough idea. I'm not sure if these are the original tires on my 06 or not. The car has almost 25k miles on it.

Thanks for any help and suggestions.

typical mileage for the OE rears is about 10-12k. fronts can last up to 25-30k if you go easy on em. im pretty sure those are accurate numbers.

From experience. I got my MY06 with 37 miles on it. My OE rears lasted about 18k (and one HPDE), and my fronts now have over 20k on them( and 2 HPDE's) and prob still have another 5k in them. My car is a daily driver, and for the most part on my trek around town, I usually take it easy, but on the track, they get hell.
Hope this helps.

I doubt I'll be doing many HPDE's and I don't drive my car every day so hopefully I can get some use out of them. The rears still look really good so I imagine they have been replaced by the previous owner.

I was just trying to get a better idea of cost of ownership. I was pricing tires and the OEM replacements are pricey to say the least. Thanks for the help!

Someone told me to check out Fusion tires (never heard of them) and I read on the main forums here that a lot of people liked Kumho. What do you guys think?

Again, all depends on what your use is going to be. Since you said there is not a high probability of you doing any HPDE's, cost effectiveness is likely more important than stickiness.
I'm sure you know about treadwear ratings, the lower the number, the softer the compound, the higher the number the harder the compound meaning you'll get more miles out of the tires.

Thanks for all the tips guys!

My car only gets driven a few times a week right now b/c I carpool with my wife to work, so yeah, cost effectiveness is a bit more important, but I do still want to "drive" the car when I am driving it.

I won't be replacing the tires anytime soon, but hey, knowledge is power right? :-D
