Default Well it happened yesterday!

Well i pulled the hardtop off yesterday to go on a nice drive with my friends on there bikes. We went to the gas station first, and then when we were pulling out, i was behind my friend on his zx6r, he took off and then i did right behind him. I ran out first, shifted into second and BOOM!!!!! THere went my differential. It seems like a ring gear and pinion gear shredded to me. What pisses me off the most is that my car is still basically stock, even stock clutch that slips most of the time! Well i guess no car can take my beating! Now i have 4 broke cars and not enough money to fix any of them right now! I broke my delsol ring gear and countershaft like 3 weeks ago doing a 3rd gear pull. My drivetrains love me...

its probably an axle. normally the diff will seperate and fluid will be everywhere. put it in gear and try to go if it makes a griding noise and dosent move its an axle. and thats a 200 dollar fix.

If it is an axle, one would be able to look up and see it from outside the car. Seeing as how Dustin is a Honda tech, I hope he would have spotted a broken axle

Sorry to hear about the car Dustin... I am suprised as you always drive it so gently

It's not an axel, that's the first things i checked when i got out of the car... they are still completely solid. What sucked the most about taking the hardtop off is that i took the soft top completely out of the car last week, so i couldn't just leave it sitting in a parking lot, as it was almost dark. It will be down for a while. I will probably be fixing my eclipse first, cause all i need for it now is valves...

well i was hoping for your sake it would be an axle. btw visually when i broke everyone of my four axles they were attached to the diff and when rolled would move. the inside of the shat was actually the part on all four that snapped.you wouldnt notice it until you got the read off the ground of course. either way if it is the diff you will be the first person i have heard of to snap a diff while doing a 1-2 shift. thats something to be proud of.hopefully you get it fixed quick i know its a head ache to deal with

i think jeff you may wana look into buying a new diff. ur gonna be upset when u blow it or snap an axle. just look at it like this one day u may do a hard pull snap that axle and that thing is gonna sling right inoto the bottom of the car
