Possible, its just whether or not the store will catch you doing it. Big retuns dealing with installation always must be approved by the supervisors or management in our store. Seems to be that others stores don't do that and thats where it works.

The package is real and you do get that $ off. The question is whether or not you get caught while trying to do the return on what made the package work.

When customers sign up for what we call D-Subs, Best Buy makes a lot of money on that. If we get a customer to sign up for Dial-up, Broadband, Direct TV, Tivo, Magazines, etc. Best Buy gets paid a lot for signing customers up for these services. So to say that Best Buy is losing, tough to say. Cause they wouldn't be doing the package if they were losing. They still get paid from the fact that you were activated. The money is not given back because they cancled. From their its on the services end and we don't get the loss for it. Of course, we do lose some margin because of the package but make up for it by the activation of the service. So thats Best Buys look at it.

And, I asked about it today. Apparently on this past weeks meeting, all Operations is aware of this flaw and is trained to resale the TV at normal price after processing the return. Company wide this was in last weeks training.
