Default gosh

been in japan for 2 weeks now and i can't find ANY performance shops. there are little to no modified cars in Tokyo and i've only spotted 3 s2000's in the time i've been here. i'm now in Osaka which seems to have more of a car culture but i still am having the hardest time finding anything automotive. (not even car toys). i have to say i'm disappointed in that aspect.
otherwise this county does offer allot.

just as a heads up... come to Osaka for the ladies. they are beautiful!

From my understanding, the modded car scene comes to life at night. My friend has been to some meets in Japan and explained how they are similar to those you see in Fast n Furious Tokyo Drift with HOT girls, music, and the cars: from extreme DIY modding by those who can't afford to splash out on brand names to cars that have been "whored" out with brand names. However, where they are and how you find them is beyond me. My friend got an invite from someone he knew there, but did say the ones he went to were in underground/multistorey car parks.

As with buying - like the post above says, Super Autobacs is like a supermarket full of toys for you to choose.

I'm hoping to visit Japan myself someday to check out the modding scene and hopefully pick up a few items - but luckily I'll have my mate as a guide.

There are lots of places you can go... if you are right in the city, you might have a harder time finding small tuner shops.. The major ones (JUN, Spoon, Mugen, etc...) you can find their address online.. but small shops takes a bit more hunting..

As far as the tuner scene... you just need to dig a little bit, and walking around during the day isn't going to get you very far... that applies to anywhere in the world... people have to work to pay for this stuff

Good luck with the hunt

When I went to Japan, I saw a ton of modded cars. Both in Okinawa and Main land. I saw so many Skylines and Supras it wasnt funny. No S2k's though.

When I went I went to a few Touge meets near Kyoto, reminded me of Initial D haha. You will see a lot of funky cars modded up
