It's not specifically for an 04 S2K, its meant for the F20C engine which is why I dont think it would suit your engine being the 2.2ltr!!

My car is an MY00 imported from Japan, I have replaced the ecu with an AEM EMS hence me having a spare.

I'm told the ECU I have is worth about

Bad idea, it wont work out for the 2.2 litre engine not to mention the red line difference between the two etc .... would be an interesting science project maybe. I guess that the JDM like mine here in Tokyo is limited to 180 KM/H, unless you have modified it to remove the limiter.

To get rid of the the speed limiter you need to buy a signal modifier that fits to the gearbox, I think Amuse sell one called the SLD (speed limit defence) over there in Japan, but you could probably buy a cheaper one from somewhere!?!

As far as the kph to mph I'm not 100% sure! its either a switch on the back to the stack, or try this: keys with the ignition turned off press and hold the trip reset buttons turn ignition on still holding buttons for about 10 sec's then it should reset itself & the same to revese it back to kph.

Like I said i'm not 100% as I paid to have all the work done by a garage over here and didn't see what they did, just told.

Hope this helps

How are the Amuse ECU?? Are they better than AEM or Comptech? What are the major difference beside the price?

I don't think Amuse make the Hi-tech rom for the US MY04 S2000?!!? the only make for the F20C, the AEM is great, this what I have its a major PITA to tune so shouls always be done by an AEM tuner, this would fit your car.

As far as Comptech goes I wasn't aware they made an ECU for the S2000!?! the Amuse SLD I was reffering to for Kye is a speed limit cut taking the top speed restriction away.
