Is this a legit 2008 s2000 Type S?
A dealer in Japan is trying to sell me a 2008 s2000 type S
It has red seats and carpet and has the type S dark gray rims, type S badge, shift knop, type S front bumper and spoiler.
It seems all correct, but isn't the s2000 type S only with black and yellow interior?
Here are three pics:

The suspension seems a little high compared to:

I just want to be sure. Let me know. Thanks

-> Let me guess, did you saw this car at CarSensor? It hard believe that this would be the Type-S, because it has a certain elements that are visually unnoticable at first.
-> The CR's suspension are slightly different compared to the Type-S.
-> But the gauge looks suspicious, it's derived from my '04 AP2, but I would think its the real thing:

Wow ... that's really weird. The CR (presumably TypeS as well) suspension does sit higher, but mine doesn't sit THAT high up.
Also, why's the antenna missing?
Anyway, did a little search around CarSensor and it looks like the TypeS never received the revised gauge cluster that the CR did. However, it's a bit odd how the seats are red ... I really am not sure about that. But then, the Japanese market really is very flexible when it comes to configuring the car. Japan received different colour combos and interior materials that we didn't know about. i.e. we would have thought that those were aftermarket jobs, but apparently they were readily available from Honda dealers in Japan.
On a side note, the cost of converting a non-TypeS to a TypeS would be quite high, at least for the aero kit. So I'm not sure if one would find it economically feasible to convert a 2006+ model to look like a TypeS.
The car certainly is 2006+ because it has VSA. Unless the guy's really desperate, coverting the centre console and wheels and everything else to that would be quite costly ... and not worth it ...

Looks like one could get leather option for the TypeS. I converted the "Cockpit" section of the site (http://www.honda.co.jp/S2000/webcatalog/type-s-tech/) into English using Google Translator. Although the translation looks a bit jibberish, it does sound like base-model leather interior can be configured into the TypeS:
Drivers and vehicles, and enhance the sense of togetherness.
Vehicle behavior and feedback from the road to more accurately conveyed.
TYPE S, and a special pad only to enhance a sense of fabrics hold sheet
※ set the standard.
In addition, operating system, shift knob and the ball short to be a stroke of realization,
And a quick shift from the operation.
The main sheet side, the door linings and Stitch,
VIVIDDO shift knob and a yellow marking to be used effectively,
Visual driver also aimed at bringing a sense of exhilaration.
※ option of making "genuine leather seats and interior" is selected,
Sheets door and lining the base model "and the leather interior," the same thing.

BEAUTIFUL COLOR!!! I have an 08 CR, and my gauges are different.. Those look like a carry over from the 07's
Looks like Honda only decided to have the new gauges in US (and maybe a few other markets), but definitely kept the 07 gauge cluster for Japan. Not sure why they did that though.
I would have imagined that producing two different clusters would cost more on the manufacturing side of things. Or maybe they are trying to get rid of some old gauges? And the CR needs the peak power indicator and can't use old ones? hehe
ok cr's and the type s are very similar so much so that why does this one have a soft top. in the states they only come ht thats why only the cr or non cr's w/o st can use the cr taunno cover
