materials. As for 3 baby seats , it can hold them, as my old boss had 3 baby seats in the back of her CRV.
U sure about that? The new model does not fit the three baby seats. Unless your old boss had booster seats and not three baby seats (rear facing/forward facing)

Spent a couple of hours yesterday afternoon doing "practical tests". As it turns out a couple of the cars that did have the space on paper you can't actually close the doors without one of the seats shifting out of position.

- Accord. The door handles protrude inwards too much. Seat pops out of place.
- Grand Picasso. Same as Accord
- Odyssey... not even close
- CX7 . Same as odyssey
- Mazda 6. Same as above
- Octavia. Same as above
- Roomster. Even less space.
- Carnival... I was just next door at Mazda so just double checking... fits with spare space between seats and doors..
-Rondo7. Same as Roomster

Took a drive up the central coast today and came back via the old road. The CX-7 may not fit three baby seats but from my point of view that's a plus.

You got me thinking the other day and I found a narrow version of the baby seats. Two of those and the booster seat would definitely fit in a CRV. They would fit in a lot more cars than the 3 full size baby seats. A two year old would not fit in one of the narrow seats (or not for very long) so i can see your Boss' thinking. However, a booster seat is not recommended for a 2 year old.

In any case, we spent the weekend doing some more practical tests, including a few test drives. At one point I test drove the new, mid specced lancer with hail damage, with an asking price of $18,000. I quite liked it. Surprisingly, it would fit two of the small baby seats and a full size one but the boot is about as big as the Jazz', which is not enough already.

The Commodore 60th Anniversary was pretty good but in the end we concluded we really want/need a 7 seater. So the search continues...

How about a Honda MDX cashout? I think used they might be in your budget, a lot of car there and 7 seats.

Have you had a look at the latest X-Trail? Not 7 seats and I am not sure about the rear seat width, my series II would not get 3 seats across I'm sure. There is a diesel coming out here in July.
