Default 2nd Hand S2000

Spotted one in the local rag today. Black/Red for 66K. That's about 9K depreciation in a year assuming the owner paid around 75 for it new.

My friend wanted to buy one via private sale ... Black/Red Nov 99 built and complied going for $58,000 with 32,000 KMs fully standard. Now, you tell me about depreciation.

Guys, I paid 64,000 for my 2000 model with 3,000km on it (yes, 3,000), spoiler, tint and stereo upgrade (uses factory controls). I think I paid too much by a few grand, but it was absolutely showroom condition and I couldn't resist.

Now that the retail price is rising there might be more resilience in second hand values, but this is a specialist car and demand falls rapidly when the silly money dries up (like now). Just imagine if you'd bought a Boxster.

I'm not worried about depreciation myself. I just like having something nice to drive that saves me some extra tax dollars. Call it income management

Otherwise known as end of financial year tax rebate? Heh, just total the god damn thing by the time you decide to switch cars again.
