best street tyres for s2k
beside s02 what would be the best tyres for street application?
|
S03?!

Or maybe BF Goodrich. Well, at least they use an S2000 in their ad and it looks hot! Love that nav system that replaces cities with twisty hinterland roads.

I always catch the end of that ad is it good huh?

This question of tyres has been a mainstay of conversation/debate since the S2000 was first released in 1999 and if you do a "search" you'll find many threads devoted to the topic of tyres. This will keep you reading for hours. Before I (or anyone else) can attempt to answer your question we need to know what your definition of "best" is. Do you want street tyres that have the best grip or do you want street tyres that have the longest life? Do you want street tyres that are good in the dry or do you prefer to have street tyres that are much better than average in the wet? Or perhaps you're looking for a tyre that represents a good compromise between all those things? Most owners who've already tried other brands of tyres will say that it's hard to find anything better than the standard S02s. We're all worried about what to do if/when Bridgestone ceases to manufacture the S02s. The most popular brands mentioned favorably by owners include...... Michelin Pilot Continental Conti-sport Dunlop FM901 Toyo Bridgestone S03 The motor magazines Wheels & Motor both have annual tyre tests and when you do your search you'll find discussion/analysis on those too. |
The ad is pretty cool. The guy gets in and presses a button and a screen pops out of the dash. He selects an option and the city ahead falls into the sea and then a road springs up. Pretty nice CG and the car looks great as it's int the best colour ;).
That said, I have no idea how good the BF Goodrich tyres are. |

qk2000 - here's a few threads to get you started. Note: these are just from the Australian section of the board. If you go to the USA section there's 10 times more, but not always relevant to Australian conditions.
Also, as you go through these be aware of the date of posting as some of them go back over two years and the information may now be superceded. https://www.s2ki.com/forums/showthread.php?...?threadid=97303 https://www.s2ki.com/forums/showthread.php?...threadid=126058 https://www.s2ki.com/forums/showthread.php?...threadid=103602 https://www.s2ki.com/forums/showthread.php?...threadid=130461 https://www.s2ki.com/forums/showthread.php?...threadid=137534 https://www.s2ki.com/forums/showthread.php?...threadid=119936 https://www.s2ki.com/forums/showthread.php?...?threadid=50044 https://www.s2ki.com/forums/showthread.php?...?threadid=51182 |
