I was looking at the exact same headunit and set up, but would it be too length be to long and hit the heater or you would have to alter the heater pipe ?

Let me know how you go

ryanswhites2k 05-14-2014 11:38 AM

I suspect it's not to deep as Aus wouldn't be that stupid surely, plus he already has the hole cut out so he knows how much depth he has to work with

That's why I din't go for a CD/DVD unit ages ago. I was waiting for a shallow one.

That said, I did have to heat and deform the heater pipe at the back.

Oh, and if you're buying the bezel you should buy the frame as well. There are mounting points for it behind every dash and it's a good guide to cutting.

I still haven't received mine yet but I thought all bezels came with both a front plate and back plate. I've read about the mounting points but I'm not sure how I'm meant to know where exactly they are located except for cutting a smaller hole and feeling are for them

AusS2000 05-15-2014 11:31 PM

Have you thought of removing your dash?

ryanswhites2k 05-16-2014 03:02 AM

seems like a huge pain in the ass even though I'm not really sure whats actually involved in removing it, but I'm trying to avoid that if i can though

ryanswhites2k 05-16-2014 04:02 AM

just watched your dash cutting movie Aus, gave me a good insight for what needs to be done. didn't realise how big the hole was and didn't realise you need the excess vinyl to give it the factory look.to be honest I'm wondering if i should tackle it or pay someone

AusS2000 05-16-2014 11:38 PM

I actually over cut the vinyl on the right.

I have a spare dash and am considering looking at it and maybe redoing the cut.
