Default Shattered window

I tried to open my roof on a cold morning and the rear window shattered. Pretty annoying as I've spent a lot of time keeping it in good condition. I had no idea this could happen, so just hoping to inform anyone who didn't know this could happen to avoid the mistake I made.

Quite a few have had this issue. Better not put the roof down until it hits the sun and warms up a bit on cold days.

It was 6am on a cold morning on MtDandenong, which is generally around 4 degerees colder than in Melbourne. It wasn't subzero, I would guess high single digits.

The window was fogged over, but not iced over, and that's the reason I was putting the roof down, so I could see where I was backing up, then I was going to put it back up for the drive.

It shattered almost instantly, it wasn't like creak creak creak shatter, I couldn't believe it at the time.

Happened to me on a cold evening, big slit straight through the middle... then I've replaced with glass window, and should have done this earlier!!! so much better then the faded plastic one!

Not good. I wouldnt believe it either. I'll keep this in mind, if I decide to have the roof off when it is below 10deg.

What's the plan ? Going glass ?
