GPMike, I can appreciate 'the evil eye', that's funny. Seems like that's what Ferrari put on McLaren last year. BTW, love the avatar.

^ Of course that is a very good point! But, the flip side of the coin is Ferrari has indeed had a long stretch of incredible reliability, so it might not be cranked up that much more than normal.
Oh absolutely. I realize that the car will be faster than last season's, but I'm not sure about two seconds/lap.

incubus why do u think the car would be faster than last years? honestly their pace was surprising to all. i thought with the band of all driver aid, that the cars would be going a bit slower. anyone car to explain this to me plz?

I hope Ferrari don't dominate! 2002/2004 made F1 boring for me during those times. I'd like to see a four-way battle with McLaren/Ferrari/BMW/Renault

Eh. I suppose I didn't account for driver aid, but I'd still venture that aerodynamics have improved slightly. After they dropped the V10s and put all those limits on engine use and tire use the times didn't really increase nearly as much as we expected.

I'll take a 3-way battle, Ferrari/BMW/Renault.

As far as I'm concerned the McCheaters are right where they bel;ong now, at the back of the garages...

They are fast right now because McLaren hasn't put the " " on the ECUs yet. You Italians out there know what that means right? LOL.
That seemed to backfire on them pretty badly last year...

I have ZERO experience driving a car with traction control, but my understanding is that it applies the brakes via ECU to keep grip.

No one ever mentioned how KR is with the throttle. Maybe KR has a soft touch, and without TC slowing the car a driver like KR can actually put more power to the dround and go faster???

The aero/mech grip could also be better than in 07.
No one knows what the fuel load was either, ans Sakir has high grip once sand clears off.

The TC in F1 cars misfires cylinders (by pulling fuel, or more likely spark) to cut power. I'm led to believe the TC was driver adjustable, so it shouldn't have been slowing the cars at all. It is definitely possible to go faster with some slip vs no slip, but if you can adjust exactly how much slip and have it dialed in exactly, you'll be faster more consistently. With TC that was possible. Without, it's all on the driver.
