Angry Button to McLaren

http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/motorsport...one/8322334.stm

Check out the above report from the Beeb. Turns out McLaren is trying to reel in Button to join them.

While I will wait to see if anything comes from this and withold judgement until then, I think it'd be a bad move for Button career-wise. Although I believe he is as good as Lewis ceteris paribus, he may find himself cold-shouldered like Alonso.

It is perfectly logical for McLaren to try and get Button now. Imagine the commercial values for the team: both Brits and both most recent WDCs

For Button's (or any top driver's )point of view, also never hurts to get a seat with a team like McLaren. Who in the right mind would NOT want to drive for one (or more) of the marquee teams?!?! KR got to drive McLaren and Ferrari! Alonso won with Renault; went to McLaren and we all know how that went (he still made loads of $$$ and nobody rejecting him as a great driver, so no harm - just added more experience and knowledge) and now on to Ferrari. So Button on to McLaren --- why not if the price is right

It would finally end the controversy over who would be better in the same chassis. I say bring it on. Oh, and I bet on Lewis.

If he can think as sensibly as he drives then he wont move to McLaren. If he does move to McLaren then I guess I'll have to start rooting full-time for baby Schumi.

Just curious, why would it be insensible for him to move to McLaren? (other than the fact that you appear to be a McHatter )

I am not saying he SHOULD move there, I just think it's not a possibility that he should/would flat-out ignore.

I think it would be pretty lame for Button to dump Brawn, the team he FINALLY scored a championship with.

I'm really looking forward to seeing Brawn's 2010 car. I still can't believe how dominant they were at the beginning of the season with a Mercedes engine hacked into a car designed for a Honda engine. (Or, more accurately, a car hacked around an engine)

Yeah, McLaren really cold-shouldered Alonso. The nerve of them allowing a rookie to be as fast as him!

I don't think Button is as good as Lewis, but wouldn't mind seeing the pairing.
Rather see Kimi go to McLaren, though.

I sure as hell don't think he'd be a good fit at Mclaren. I like Rosberg myself.

^^ Rosberg would be a better fit for McLaren. Button is better off at Brawn.
