in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series. Not only did Toyota win the manufacturer's title, Toyota Drivers dominated placing 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th and 10th in the Driver's Championship. Kick ass in 07' with the Camry.
I don't mean this offensive, because I hope Toyota kicks the crap out of the usuals in NASCAR, but with the 3.5 Billion they have spent on a state of art facility, and developement you would think they would do a bit better than a no money back of grid F1 team. As a Honda F1 fan, Toyota is my mortal enemy, even more so than the other teams as they are japanese. I do wish they would live up to there psycho spending.
Maybe JV will be the F1 to NASCAR Toyota driver??? Id love to see it...ok well during the 2 races i watch a year...the non circle ones!!!
Manufacturer doesn't mean anything in NASCRAP. The cars are so far away from anything on the road and virtually identical to the other cars just different motor and body panels. Toyota's apparent domination says more against the governing body than it does for their performance.
The same could be said for most professional series. Like F1 Hondas are a spitting image of their road going counterparts. The rules and regulations undoubtly were a contributing factor but at the same time it's a slap to the face of those who doubted Toyota or did not want them to compete to begin with.
With everyone running carburators, iron block V8's ,pushrods, body templates and the same spoiler/aero packages;Nascar is less about manufacturers and their engineering prowess and more about big money teams
It's not Ford that wins, its Roush or Yates
It's not Chevy, its Hendricks or DEI
It hope Toyota and the rest of the RickyBobby group understand that

The last I checked Honda F1 didn't have "ACCORD" plastered all the way down the fender. NASCRAP advertises itself as "stock car" racing and sells the manufacturer on the idea that if you pump shit loads of money into our pockets than you will sell more cars. There isn't anything going on that will actually improve the cars that we buy so the money is just flushed right down the toilet as far as I'm concerned.

NASCAR was formed over 50 years ago. 50 years ago the cars were stock. Over the years the cars became less and less stock but the named stayed. "Stock car" is semantics as far as I'm concerned. And as far as the money a manufacturer invests into it, it does work for it's targeted audience. I won't argue this with you any further as it's obvious you are biased.

You knew you were stepping into the lions den with your first post
I'm not biased against NASCAR particularly. It just pisses me off that they are sucking up a lot of the money from big manufacturers that has no benefit to the consumer. If they would switch back to a production based series like it used to be and force the manufacturers to make a better car I would be a huge supporter. With a raise of hands lets see how many people on here own a Taurus? That car dominated NASCAR but you wouldn't catch a real racing fan/car enthusiast dead in one.
