I am all over that opportunity (to drive a open wheeler). As some of you may know, I have been to Skip Barber twice, but it has been the driving school not their racing school. I would love the opportunity to drive an open wheel car.
Despite some of the previous comments here about her career results, the reality is that she is living the dream that many of us may have had but did not persue. One should not loose site of the fact that the slowest of professional drivers can probably eat your shorts any day of the week.
I had to laugh out loud when I watched the test drive of the new Lexus Hy-brid with Tommy Kendall and Danny Sullivan on the speed channel. The recruited four students from the racing school at the track that they were at to be back seat passengers in the Lexus. Before the test drive, they asked them about their thoughts about Hy-brids, which where less than complimentary.
While they were getting tossed around the track one of the students turned to the other and stated: "I have learned two things: I have changed my opinion of hybrids, and that "we suck".
With that stated: I would love to learn from anyone that has made it to the top ranks of their sport. I raced for plastic throphy's and never won one. So, I think that I could learn from her.
Hi Matt I agree - I'd trade my job for hers any day! After my first track day the "we suck" thing hits home. Forget everything I *thought* I knew about driving Most of it's wrong.
