Default F1 in Austin, Tx

Afternoon gents. Was wondering if anyone here has rented a house for this F1 weekend through homeaway.com by chance. I've emailed different homeowners about possible availability but have not heard from ONE. Just wondering if this is the kind of service anyone else is experience. Thanks guys

Try VRBO.com same type of website, ive never been on homeaway but vrbo is pretty large and trustworthy. I was looking into this, as well!

My girlfriend used either Airbnb or VRBO. We got a great place fairly close to downtown (close to a great breakfast joint!) for CHEAP!!!!

Home Away owns VRBO -- fyi. Headquarters is right down the street from me...great company.

Monitor AirBNB and you'll probably find something. Tons of people around here will be renting out sofas, rooms, and full houses as the awareness of the event and buzz increases.

Good luck. Travelodge was quoting me $300+/night for the weekend of the race.

Specifically, we're in a residential neighborhood. Google Maps calls it, "Chestnut." Close to transit.

A group of us are looking as well still. The price gouging is ridiculous...I have a sister office in Austin that I visit (by the airport). The price went from $89 a night to over $300...

Brian.. see you in Austin

I'll be lucky enough to be staying at a friend of a friend's house in Austin.

So, as we found with AirBnB, most folks had "event" pricing, because they're used to having large crowds in town (there's a couple of shitty tiny music festivals there or something. . . ). What I'm to understand though, the upper-upper end hotels (Four Seasons, Driskill, InterConti) were booked by the teams, setting the hotel prices up to $$$$$. The smaller hotels followed suit.

Yah.... small events.... like Austin City Limits

So, I have friends there that I could possibly stay with except that they have 0 interest in racing... so I'd be camping out at their place for 4 nights... and I kinda feel bad about that so I don't know if I can do that.. hence the room options. My group is still looking into options... I'll keep you posted for sure..
