Default Great coverage of the Italian GP

Wow, I must say I am impressed with ABC's coverage of the race from Monza. The camera shots were great! And far more in-car footage than I've ever seen from Speed's world feed. Even the commentators knew what they were talking about. All-in-all, it was a far cry from their coverage of the Indy GP a couple years ago: "And there goes.......another guy.....Coulthard." Well done, ABC, but it would have been nice to hear the entire post-race interview with the podium finishers.

Did you notice that, on the podium, Schumacher was just pretending to pour champagne down his throat and was really pouring it all down the front of himself. Must have made a real mess.

Tedlow; With all due respect, I thought the ABC coverage sucked! To make matters worse, my local station joined the race in progress and we missed the start, and the first two laps. I would much rather listen to Steve Machett and David Hobbs call the race. Steve has the car tech. / pit stuff covered and David knows the track as a driver. I also like the post race stuff which was much abbreviated when compared to SPEED coverage. Just my .02

I agree with Chipster, the commentary sucked. The camera coverage was better than Speed's, but it's not a horse race. Let the events unfold.

Do you guys know if the "World Feed" uses camera shots that are different from those that are used by SPEED?

The Speed Channel ONLY uses the "World Feed." And I'll agree that Speed's commentators are better, but at least the ABC guys knew all the drivers' names this time. Compared to the USGP a couple years ago, this effort was a vast improvement. And the camera shots were much better than Speed's, IMO.

One of the announcers referred to the "Tifosi fans". Now, the Tifosi are the fans of Ferrari: they come out to watch Ferrari win. So the Tifosi fans--the fans of the fans of Ferrari--must come out to watch the people who watch Ferrari win.

They would be facing in the wrong direction and miss the race.

Speed's F1 Monza coverage (taped) will be on Sun. morning. It will be interesting to see how much ABC's crew missed. I will get a chance to see the start of the race, with the volume CRANKED!
