That is sad. Another reason why the Commercial Rights Holder should be a professionaly run organization and not one particular individual who can do as he wishes.

things are getting ridiculous with F1 nowadays. everyone should be geared up for the first race and all that's going on is political bullshit. it's amazing how many people have come out and said the "most wins" rule is stupid, now this.

Teams to blame for America's F1 demise - Ecclestone E-mail
Mar.24 (GMM) North America's absence from the formula one calendar is the teams' fault, F1 chief executive Bernie Ecclestone insists.
While the FOTA alliance is pushing hard for a return to the crucial American market, Ecclestone says the fact races in Canada and the US failed was because of the position of the teams.

"The teams wanted too much money to race there. That was the problem," the 78-year-old billionaire said in an interview with Germany's SID news agency.

He suggests that, because the stumbling block is money, returning to North America is theoretically only a commercial matter.

"We are talking," the Briton revealed, "but for the moment the teams do not want any more than 17 races."

Ecclestone confirmed, however, that negotiations to reinstate the US grand prix at Indianapolis are not taking place. "We would go elsewhere," he said.

wish bernie could stop stumbling over his money.

I'll say!

And I guess, while the fire is burning, might as well throw on a can of gas.

What the f is wrong with Bernie. The TEAMS want an American race, the problem is Bernie wants more money than race organizers here can give him. This is not someplace where the government ponies up millions of dollars. If Bernie was not so damnn greedy we could have not only a race here, but the teams could get the monies they are looking for.

What BS not even considering a return to Indy. Although I love the place, I know others do not, but the fact is, the garages are built and the track is up to FiA specs. I would rather have a race at a less than perfect venue than no race at all.

NO! not necessarily. F1 has 17 races. shouldn't the champion be someone who performed the best (most consistant) over those 17 races? or you think he should be champion because he won a few and did crappy in others while the next guy won one less race, but did better overall in the other races?

if it was just about the win, then why don't they just have one race to decide it all?
