Apparently Kimi's Italian is better than his English.

And he is driving that car to the best position it can get to - what i meant was not that he drives round like a Sunday trip to the shops, but with nothing to fight for why would you put your neck on the line to maybe go from P16 to P14.
At Interlagos the real RB came out and he qualified that car where it had no right to be - much as JB did in Fuji
There isnt a driver on the grid that would do that, despite their millions. Sorry to dissappoint..........

And that is entirely justified to certain extents. I cant argue in the main.
But (and correct me if i'm wrong here) in say NASCAR points go all the way down the order way beyond 8th and there is prize money to go with it on top of salaries, therefore promoting racing all the way through the pack

[QUOTE=Marco,Nov 15 2007, 12:51 PM] Doug,
That comment proves your age, and I assume you forgot to take your geritol this morning.
Remember 2 prunes a day and geritol for someone your age!!!

I'm the last one to reply to a NASCAR question... However, based upon being exposed to it once and a while on SPEED I have to say, you are right, points and money go way beyond 8th position.

Of course talking about the awarding of points and F1 together is sort of a joke as far as I'm concerned. F1 could do much more with their points system, they could pass it down below 8th, they could reward qualifying, they could reward fastest race lap, and they could do all sorts of things, but no.

It's sad, but I'm afraid in my time will I not only have had the chance to see one of the greatest racecar drivers ever - Michael Schumacher, but I'll also be able to witness how Max and Bernie destroy F1.

As in GP2 - the "feeder series" that is run by Max and Bernie at the same venues on the same weekends as the "main event" and id by far the best racing the paying public will see over the course of a GP weekend

Whats good for one..........

NASCAR gives points for every position. They give bonus points for anyone who leads any lap, whoever leads the most laps, and whoever qualified on the pole.

However, they have been criticized for this because it somewhat devalues actually winning the race. They tweaked their playoff format this year to essentially award bonus points for each "regular season" win.
