Kimi coming back?
Nice! Good for Kimi winning a rally. I really wonder if Renault can become a true contender next season seeing how they developed the car the season.
So is Heidfeld guaranteed a seat in Sauber next year or does it depend on his performance for the rest of the season?

Well for sure, it just became VERY DIFFICULT for Renault to let go of VP
Vyborg Shipyard JSC may very well have stopped KR's chance of getting back
My money is on keep VP and his skill and sponsporship, and not take a chance with KR

Renault signs new Russian partner
The Renault F1 Team is pleased to announce another successful step in its commercial strategy in Eastern Europe with the arrival of Vyborg Shipyard JSC as a team partner for the final five rounds of the 2010 season.
This marks the team’s second partnership with a Russian company in 2010, following the agreement with Lada, whose logos have featured on the team’s cars throughout the season. Both companies have been attracted to the team by Vitaly Petrov’s promising debut season as Russia’s first ever F1 driver. Vitaly has registered four points-scoring finishes so far in 2010, including a best finish of fifth at the Hungarian Grand Prix – the strongest result for a rookie driver this year
Vyborg Shipyard JSC is one of the largest shipbuilding companies in the North-Western region of Russia, and its logo will feature on the chassis of both R30 race cars for the remainder of the 2010 season. Vitaly Petrov, a native of Vyborg, will also carry the Vyborg Shipyard logo on his overalls.

^ I think money. Renault is now largely run by a private capital firm whose motive is to somehow make a profit from this investment. I think they'll stick with Petrov if the money keeps coming.

^^ This will get interesting. Do they go for talent or money?
I'm thinking if I were leading the team I would give VP one more year, making it very clear to him this is your last year, contract negotiations will be conducted at the 13th race in 2011, and if we are not going to renew for 2012 you may loose your seat for the last 5 races.

had to go to the bottom of last page to locate this thread.
where's kimi? the talk lately is a switch from citroen to ford rally team but there's something unthinkable (at least for me) implied in this article.
