Max is staying...
yeah, that's a shame. i saw an article too that interviewed Bernie Ecclestone...he said that if Max wins the confidence vote, he is certain he will run for re-election in 2009. that is different from what Max was saying just recently about how he'll step down in any case in 2009.
Wow that's a sharp contrast to what was being predicted before the proceedings. I don't know how he can even argue the point that he didn't bring the federation into disrepute now the the ADAC has froze relations with them and the AAA isn't far behind.
I honestly thought he would lose the confidence vote but I obviously underestimated the power of stacking the vote in your favor by appointing all these people yourself. I think he needs to GO, NOW! Think about what mad max has done, grooved tires? BS cost saving methods for teams? Has the sport gotten better during his tenure? Sure he has improved safety but was that really him or the drivers? Todt for 2009 FIA President?
It also helped that all the clubs had an equal vote regardless of member numbers. The 50m strong AAA vote of no is nullified by the Rwanda Auto Club vote of yes. Democratic would hardly be the word for the FIA to use in this "vote".

The FIA and its members received $60 million of that sum.

But when you look at the McLaren fine, that is a lot of money, and when you get something from that, you are more or less in favor of the people giving you that bread."
