Last night when I got home my refund check was in the mailbox.
There was a special application for those who want to renew right away, I am one of those who will do so and had been planning to do so all along. I really believe '06 is going to be an incredible event at Indy because I suspect the track is going to go well above and beyond to make it an extraordinary ebvent to try and make up for the '05 debacle.
Along with the check and the application form there was a nice letter that shared details for the way the 20,000 free tickets will be handed out. In simple terms for those who received a letter now, if one ticket for '06 is bought the track will include two free ones. Sooooo, I wrote my check last night for my seat, and called up two of my friends and asked them if they wanted a free ticket to the '06 F1 at Indy.
The letter went on to say that the schedule for '06 has yet to be approved by the FIA, but the tentative date for '06 is July 2nd. Somehow I can't think of a better way to spend my 4th of July weekend that watching F1 and camping with two of my closest friends.
Camp Hood will be way bigger in '06 now that I have a Titan!
I called the ticket office to doublecheck (since I sent in my renewal right after the race - faith, right?). They told me that since i reordered 2 tickets, I would get my 2 in stand J (top row) plus 2 free ones
HHH, so all i have to do is buy 1 ticket(any ticket)? and they will give me 2 more in the same section??
My refund packet included a letter explaining that as well as the return forms to do it.
The thing I do not understand is who gets the offer. Do all ticket holders get the offer? NO WAY - the numbers don't work out. The 'free' tickets is limited to 20,000. Therefore if it is buy one and get two free that means ONLY 10,000 people are going to get the offer, and clearly there were more than 10,000 people at the race.
So the only way I can respond to your question is look over the stuff you got in the mail.
The thing to note, I'm a many time repeat customer and I have been in the Indy database since the very forst race.
